By the River Reading Series

Started in 2016 in conjunction with Windsor Public Library, By the River has grown into a highlight literary reading series in Windsor, ON. The reading series has come to feature the best literary and writing work of our region's established and emerging artists. It is free and open to the public.

Where and When:

The By the River reading series happens the middle Wednesday of each month between November and March of each calendar year. Previous By the River readers have included Casey Plett, Marty Gervais, Bruce Meyer, John B. Lee, Vanessa Shields, MaryAnn Mulhern, Peter Hrastovec and Karl Jirgens. The 2019-20 series is being hosted this year at Windsor's historic gathering point for arts and culture, MacKenzie Hall, in the beautiful Sandwich neighbourhood. All readings are free and open to the public. We encourage community residents and visitors alike to come out and listen to and meet some of the best literary talent the region has to offer.

As we have completed or 2018-2019 Reading Series we encourage writers, poets, and publishers interested in reading at By The River to reach out us via our contact page to see about reading at future dates. We work with the League of Canadian Poets and the Writer's Union of Canada for poetry tour and reading funds. We anticipate the 2019-2020 series to kick off in September 2019 and to go through March 2020.
